Gede ruins are the remains of a Swahili town, which traces its origin to the twelfth century but was rebuilt with new town walls in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
Start your trip from your location in Watamu at 9 a.m. by either car or motorbike.
Once you get to Gede, about 15 minutes from Watamu, you will get a locally well-equipped tour guide to take you around and explain in detail the history of the ruins.
